Speech/Language Pathologist - Hope Elementary School

Hope Elementary School is currently seeking a Contracted Speech/Language Pathologist for the 2024 - 2025 School Year. This contracted position is for 3.5 days a week and will serve grades K-8.

Qualifications:

  • Maine Speech Pathologist Certification and Licensure
  • Maine Criminal History Background Check
  • Experience in an educational setting preferred.

    Reports to: Special Education Director

    Candidate will:

  • Identify students in need of speech/language therapy services K-8; including screening incoming kindergarten students, newly transferred students, new referrals.
  • Provide speech/language services to identified students. Including direct speech/language therapy and consultation.

  • Be familiar with and be able to complete required State Special Education paperwork associated with evaluation reports, IEPs and progress reports.
  • Attend IEP meetings.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other service providers to assist in making modifications and accommodations in their classroom and in developing language activities.

Middle School Language Arts Teacher - Hope Elementary School

The Hope Elementary School is seeking a middle school Language Arts teacher for the 2024 -2025 school year. Appropriate State of Maine certification required.

The ideal candidate will be experienced, collaborative, energetic, and knowledgeable about the middle school child and should possess the following:

          Experience as a 6-8 LA teacher preferred;

Knowledge of differentiated instruction and assessment;

Interested in innovative approaches;

Skilled at working with all students;

Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practice;

           Interest or experience in interdisciplinary teaching and project-based learning.

Director of Special Services Opening
School Union 69, composed of the PreK-8 schools of Hope Elementary School, Appleton Village School and Lincolnville Central School in beautiful Midcoast Maine, is looking for a part-time Director of Special Services. This position will be .4 FTE for SY 24-25 and increase to .8 FTE for SY 25-26 and beyond. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is retired or who is at the beginning of their career, as the Superintendent will provide mentoring and training for the first year and share some of the responsibilities.
